TWINS: born at 33wks & 5days. Delivered by C-section.
Arlo weighed 4lb 10oz. Josiah weighed 4lb 9oz.
They are fraternal twins, so each boy had a separate placenta.
Each boy stayed in the NICU for 24 days.
PREGNANCY:
With the twins I gained a total of 26lbs; and I had lost 19lbs by the time I left the hospital (in 4 days).
vs.
With THIS pregnancy I have gained the EXACT amount of weight. Don't forget that I still have 6 more weeks PLUS there's only 1 baby, instead of 2. (Which means my legs & butt are catching the extra weight this time, aaahhh!!) I'm hoping (in vain) that I'll lose a whole bunch of weight in the hospital again!!
With THIS pregnancy, I feel like the baby has stronger movements than the twins did. I'm thinking that the twins just didn't have enough room in my belly for back-flips & cart-wheels. THIS baby is certainly taking advantage of the added space - and I'm a little nervous for when he gets bigger & stronger in my belly - I may have a cracked rib!

Every day I think about how this baby is developing & I imagine what he looks like & the size of his body right now & my love for him & his personality, etc, etc... So, last night I pulled out some old photos of the twins and THIS is what they looked like on their birth-day (33wks & 5days)....So, this is something of what baby #3 looks like RIGHT NOW, inside my tummy!!! (Sometimes it's hard to imagine this little human is growing inside of me!!)

It's amazing how much your twins looked just like themselves from day one! Do you know what I mean? They are such handsome boys. This was a beautiful post. It hurts a little to read because I don't get to be around during this pregnancy!
ReplyDeleteI think you look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteAhh! That is so exciting that you are so far along with Baby #3! I can't wait to meet the newest Thompson!
ReplyDeleteDana! I had no idea you were pregnant again! That is such wonderful news! I am curious if you guys got lucky with this one or if did fertility again. Kinda jumping right to my question right? :) We are still living it up in fertility land over here, and I am interested in your experience. Excited you got a house too! Lots of great things for you guys.
